Reviews in Major Databases

You can often find reviews for books, movies, TV shows, video games, and more in newspapers and magazines.

This is a specific newspaper with many great reviews.

2. Select "Review" from the "Document type" box in the bottom-middle of the page

This database has newspapers and other news sources from all over the world.
1. Type in "review" along with the material you are looking for in the search box.

Although many reviews can now be accessed online, you might need to use these reviews found in print sources on special occasions.

If you are doing research on an older book or play, or something that is not well known, there may not be many online reviews.
If you are doing really in-depth research on a source, for example a graduate or senior thesis, you can check these print resources to make sure that you have a more complete record of reviews.
If you can only find modern reviews, but are looking for a review from the time a movie came out, these print sources could be a big help.
