4. Leased books
The Library leases a “current titles” collection to augment recreational and popular reading materials. Approximately 100-200 titles in various genres are provided to the campus community through this lease program at a time. The Library chooses to retain some titles for its permanent collection based on selection criteria (see section 1 Criteria for selecting library materials). Titles may be purchased from this service for the Library’s collection at used-book prices and one out of every five books returned may be kept for free. Leased books are subject to a contract negotiated annually with the series supplier.
