OpenAthens is an authentication service that provides access to electronic resources licensed by the Paul Meek Library via single sign-on (SSO) technology, both on- and off-campus. It is replacing EZproxy. OpenAthens offers increased security and control of library resources, reduces service interruptions, and allows UTM users to access e-resources across library databases and publisher websites with just one login.
UTM students, staff, and faculty must use their credentials to access online resources regardless of whether they are on or off campus. Users will only need to authenticate to OpenAthens once per session. An OpenAthens session stays active for up to 8 hours, unless you clear your browser cache and cookies.
Please note that the easiest way to access library resources from off-campus is to connect through the Library Website. When you connect to a database, journal, article, ebook, streaming video, etc. through the library's site you will be asked to sign in to UTM.
