Professional Organizations

American Psychological Association 

The APA is a the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States. APA seeks to expand psychology’s role in advancing health, and to increase recognition of psychology as a science.

American Psychiatric Association 

The American Psychiatric Association is the main professional organization for professional psychiatrists. Part of the mission of the American Psychiatric Association is to promote the highest quality care for individuals with mental illness, including substance use disorders, and their families and to promote psychiatric education and research. The association publishes various scholarly journals and the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).

Association for Psychological Science 

The Association for Psychological Science is an international non-profit organization dedicated to research-based psychology, its application and teaching and to the improvement of human welfare.

Cognitive Science Society 

The Cognitive Science Society is a professional, non-profit organization which exists to promote Cognitive Science as a discipline. The Society seeks to develop the exchange of research among these disciplines: Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, Anthropology, Psychology, Neuroscience, Philosophy, and Education, in an effort to grasp the nature of the human mind. The Society publishes two journals, Cognitive Science and TopiCS.
